I would create many characters to take to the maximum level of 50 to battle the realms of Hibernia and Midgard for the glory of Albion. One character I became attached to was my sorcerer, Althena. She became quite a legend in game as she would turn the tides in many battles. Upsetting many nerds and causing them to rage was my specialty. I would play with my brother and we'd go against all odds, taking down opponents who outnumbered us.
One scum from Hibernia was named Steveal. Steveal had many characters as well. He had been known to be the scoundrel of his own realm, cheating realm mates out of platinum, the currency in Dark Age of Camelot, stealing rare items, and causing grief to inexperienced players. He was notorious for scamming people and was despised by members of the enemy realm and his own.
8v8 group combat drew people to a game like DAoC. A full group would display their skills against their enemies in the frontiers to prove who was best. We were destined to meet in the battle fields. One battle was recorded and dubbed as "Althena is Jesus," since Steveal captured the mysterious lag mezzer of Albion doing what she did best, putting idiots to sleep.
We grew up and became responsible adults. Mr. Andy in New York City, and Steve Swagson Simpson in Rhode Island. I started my second year of teaching this year, becoming donoschoose.org obsessed. I would post my projects on Facebook, hoping my childhood friends would contribute. I created a LEGO project inspired by The Art of the Brick exhibit, in hopes of getting LEGOs for my kids as a unique medium for art expression.
