"Check out the multi-purpose room. There's animals!" he said
My initial thought was that it must have been some sort of trick. Maybe there would be a dead roach. It wasn't a trick at all. I walked in and saw an alligator in a box. I immediately got excited. "What is this for?!" I went back to ask Mr. L.
1st grade had hired Erik's Reptile Edventures to come in and show the kids all of the cool reptiles from different continents.
I asked Erik. He didn't mind at all. You could tell he was truly passionate about his work, loved animals, and enjoyed sharing his passion with kids. He was truly an amazing and kind person. As the time approached 9:30, I got my kids ready and joined the first graders in the multi-purpose room. We sat in the back, trying to be as least intrusive as possible.
Erik stopped by our classroom one last time before he left to say goodbye with the beautifully colored chameleon. I had to take a picture! His exhibit will definitely be considered next year for pre-k!
