After coming back from a three day weekend, I decided to continue with the three little pigs with an introduction of the flow map. I returned the book to Ms. Anna, the other pre-k teacher, so we did not have the book to refer to. I began by showing students what a flow map was and what it was used for. I demonstrated using the smart board detailing my weekend activities. Afterwards, students help create a class flow map sequencing the events of the three little pigs. I started the class off with the first box. Students were sent off into their centers and those that wished to continue with the flow map would have to join the library center.
Although M.F. brought up the idea, he was too tempted by the blocks center to work on his own version. His idea was planted into the head of other children and they occupied our writing center for our second choice centers.
